Hi Everyone,

I started Cambiar Festival as a collegiate entrepreneurship project and it transformed into reality. I went to other music festivals, worked at some, and was constantly troubled by the fact that many festivals didn't have a mission other than to entertain.

My story is not unlike many others around the world. My mother, and best friend, was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma (an extremely rare form of cancer) the summer before my junior year of high school. My mother endured many rounds of chemotherapy, numerous surgeries, and took part in experimental cancer drugs in hopes to survive the disease. By the end of my freshman year of college, my mother, Deena Laviolette, passed away and lost her battle to cancer.

Because of my mother's courageous battle and many others' daily fights, I wanted to dedicate the first year of Cambiar Festivals to all of the amazing people in this world affected by rare cancer. I wanted to bridge entertainment, education, and philanthropy with music, fashion, and art to raise critical funds for rare cancer research.

Cambiar Festival is for the fighters.

All my best,
